Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Compete?

Anyone is allowed to compete! Competitions are open to people of all ages and skill levels. Register for a competition at the WCA Website and follow the registration procedures detailed on the specific competitions' page.

What is the WCA?

The World Cube Association is the organisation that governs twisty puzzle competitions. WCA Delegates are representatives appointed by the WCA to oversee local competitions, and ensure that they are run with competitive integrity and in the spirit of the WCA. In Singapore, we have a sole delegate, Zhou Yi Chen.

What is my WCA ID?

After your first competition, you will be assigned a unique WCA ID that contains some letters in your name, and the year that you first competed in. You may check your ID from your profile page of the WCA site after logging in. For your first competition, you will only need your WCA account.

What events are there?

The WCA has 17 official events, but not every competition will have all events. Be sure to check carefully before registering, as you will have to determine which events you are taking part in during registration. There are often time limits imposed too.

Do I use my own puzzles?

Yes, make sure you bring your own puzzles for the events that you are competing in. And you can set them up to your own liking. However, remember to keep your own puzzles with you at all times, because there are lots of similar looking puzzles at competitions.

Where do I find my results?

All past results can be found on the WCA website. However, they are only posted there a few days after the competitions end. For live results, you may visit WCA Live, where results from ongoing competitions will be uploaded for everyone to view.
